My Grandmother, Estelle, lived a few blocks from Lake Eola Park on Liberty and we used to walk there to feed the ducks and swans. The majestic oak branches were braced from touching the ground and I remember my Grandmother reciting the Joyce Kilmer poem, "I shall never see something as lovely as a tree." I participated in many Easter Parades at the band shell and admired the snowy egrets who nested there. I would be heartbroken if they didn't preserve the fountain at Lake Eola. It's nighttime display was magical. I will always remember it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
